Becoming a Community of  CLC Guides

Zoom Conference
June 12 and 19, 2021

Invitation

Four Days of Learning from Sharing
March 5-8, 2020
Formation is a top priority for CLC-USA.  To address the great need for well-trained Guides, we are hosting a formation for CLC Guides with 3 modules .

The course is also designed to develop a national team of well-formed guides who can:

  • Colloborate with Christ to accompany a group on its journey of becoming one apostolic discerning community.

  • Share experiences and resources to support and mentor each other in their growth as guides.

  • Identify potential new guides locally and

  • Resource each other to train and mentor these new guides.

Language:
Our cultural diversity is valued and a gift to the national community.  Presentations and small group work will be in English but we expect to have presenters and/or attendees who speak Korean, Vietnamese, Spanish, Polish and English; so if language support is needed, please partner with another attendee for translation services.

Since guides formation is a high priority for CLC-USA, we are subsidizing this event with approximately $8,000 in order to minimize the expense to attendees.

$200 is the registration fee for room and board for the full 3–day  event.

Vision

“The guide, well formed in the Ignatian process of growth, helps the community to discern the movements at work in the individuals and the community, and helps them to maintain a clear idea of the CLC goal and process.  The guide assists the community and its coordinator to find and to use the means needed for the community’s formation and its mission.”
-General Norms E. 41b.

CLC-USA is experiencing increased interest in the formation of CLC groups. To respond to this need, we're developing an integrated formation program. A first step is to call forth experienced guides from our national community to tap into the wisdom of their collective experience.  We desire to build relationships, identify ways to provide ongoing support for guides and discuss ideas for calling forth and mentoring future guides to serve CLC-USA.  Our hope is to continue growing as one apostolic body for mission.
